Identity Crisis

Ok, so here is perhaps the most self-conscious piece I've posted yet. Here's my self portrait done in charcoal. I found the proportions really hard because of the size of it (about 22"x30"....i think).

Self portraits are so good because it forces you to try to get rid of any assumptions you have about your face and just draw what is actually there. I'm not going to lie, though, this thing almost made me have a nervous break down due to no longer being able to tell whether or not I looked like my drawing. Ok I'm tired.
Until next time, wake up standing in the middle of your room and get really freaked out, I do.

Hey Hoots
how did your crit go? I'm sure it went amazingly well. But just tell me anyway. I'm curious to know.

Hey Loafer!
The crit went really well. I got a lot of positive comments and I feel good about it. Though while I was up there, I was soo nervous to talk about it which is odd because I'm good friends with my class. Anyway I was really flustered and I laughed a lot and made a lot of dumb jokes. But as a whole it was good.

i wish you would update like three times a day.
its a great distraction from studying when i can look at your art and read your stories.
think about it...it would be beneficial to many people...
